the challenge
AVONE HILL, a Melbourne-based casual wear label, faced challenges in establishing a distinct presence within the city’s competitive cosmopolitan fashion landscape. While the brand offered high-quality garments, particularly heavyweight hoodies, the overall identity lacked clarity, cohesion and cultural resonance.
The existing visual language and website experience felt generic, with inconsistent use of colour, typography and imagery. This diluted the perceived value of the product and made it difficult to connect with a discerning audience of modern creatives. The brand required a repositioning that would align its product quality with a more intentional, design-led identity.
Oramer Studio approached the project with a focus on structured understatement, aligning with AVONE HILL’s vision of “attire for modern creatives.”
The process began with a comprehensive brand audit, reviewing the existing website, product offering and communication tone to identify gaps in consistency and positioning. From this, a refined visual and verbal direction was established.
A colour palette was developed by extracting cues from the existing brand while introducing greater structure and discipline. The system was anchored in architectural neutrals, Structural Black, Concrete Grey, Warm Bone, and Espresso Brown supported by restrained seasonal accents such as Muted Steel Blue and Deep Olive. This ensured consistency across digital and physical touchpoints while reinforcing a premium, understated aesthetic.
A typographic system was then defined using Inter, balancing clarity with hierarchy through controlled weights and spacing. This created a clean, modern framework that supports both editorial storytelling and functional e-commerce use.
The website was redesigned with a shift from a catalogue-driven layout to a more narrative-led experience. The homepage was restructured to highlight hero products, seasonal context, and brand philosophy, while imagery was curated to reflect Melbourne’s architectural and cultural landscape.
Finally, a consistent visual system was applied across all touchpoints — product imagery, UI components, and campaign assets, ensuring that every element contributed to a cohesive and recognisable brand identity.

RESULTS & conclusion
The repositioning established a more defined and intentional identity for AVONE HILL, elevating it from a generic minimal brand to one grounded in structure, restraint, and cultural relevance. The refined visual system and disciplined use of colour and typography improved overall clarity, allowing the product to be presented with greater confidence and focus.
The redesigned website enhanced user experience through clearer hierarchy and a more considered flow, creating a stronger connection between brand narrative and product offering. This shift enabled AVONE HILL to communicate not only what it produces, but how it fits within the everyday lives of modern creatives.
Ultimately, the outcome is a cohesive brand system that aligns product quality with perception, positioning AVONE HILL for sustainable growth while establishing a foundation for future collections, campaigns, and physical experiences.
